Workshops

workshopDance.Laugh.Learn. is committed to providing quality educational arts programs in all facets of the performing arts. Our workshop series provides opportunities for students and facilities to sample different genres of the performing arts. Just like DLL classes, all workshops are structured with specific educational goals in mind and are taught by teaching artists qualified in each genre.

Booking

  • Workshops are generally booked afterschool or Saturdays. However, any day of the week or holiday is available.
  • Workshops are designed to be conducted in 1,2 or 4 sessions. Sessions do not have to be booked on consecutive days and booking multiple sessions allows the instructor and the students to spend more detailed time on the workshop theme.
  • Pricing discounts are given based on higher enrollment and booking multiple sessions.

GleeGlee

There is no doubt that GLEE has taken America, and now it’s time to bring it right to your classroom. This workshop is designed to teach your students about working as an ensemble in a fun, entertaining environment. Your students will have the chance to shine together as they learn, rehearse and perform their favorite mash-ups!

ShakespeareShakespeare

William Shakespeare is one of the founding fathers of modern day theatre and his work is often misunderstood as being “old fashioned” or “boring”. In actuality some of the best action, romance and thrills come from Shakespeare’s work and many of today’s most beloved musicals and movies are based on Shakespeare’s plays. This workshop will let students dive into the exciting world of Shakespeare with activities and language that they understand. By using games, improvisational exercises and storytelling each student will feel as though they are a part of a troupe of Shakespearian actors.

StorytellingStorytellling

Storytelling is a sacred and beautiful art form with cultural value. Using music, dance and movement students will be taught how to bring some of the most dearly loved stories to life using their own bodies and voices along with creating their very own stories to tell.

PuppeteeringPuppeteering

This workshop is an interactive look at the art of puppeteering. Your students will learn the basics of maneuvering and working with puppets while also having the opportunity to make their very own puppets. Not only will your students learn they will have a piece of their own work to take home with them.

DrummingDrumming

Your students will love this interactive workshop that not only touches on the concepts of rhythm, musicality and working as an ensemble but will also allow your students to make their own instruments.

BalletBallet

Your students will feel like prima ballerinas as they delve into the basics of one of the most beloved areas of dance. This workshop is designed to give the students a taste of what ballet is all about. The curricula will include a physical warm-up, across the floor, center barre and basic adagio all taught in a fun and safe environment.

JewishJewish Holidays

Let your children learn the traditions and folklore of Judaism through a celebration of Music, Drama and Dance. Our curriculum content varies for each holiday but always includes a physical warm-up, vocal warm-up, traditional Jewish songs along with contemporary musical selections.

Everyone loves the Circus! Combining elements of face painting, illusion tricks, history and showmanship your students will feel like their under the big top.

SongwritingSongwriting

Ever wonder what it’s like to write your very own song? This workshop will teach your students about the songwriting process from brainstorming, lyric and melody writing to a finished product. Students will work as a team to write and perform their own music.
